Our Chaplain
Greetings from Benson Chapel!
I am so excited for you to join us and be part of our Spiritual Life program at Louisburg College.
I believe fully in safe space, authenticity, and having the ability to “come as you are”. One of my favorite expressions in the church is “y'all means all.” In other words, when we say, “all are welcome here”, that means you are welcome in this space, not in spite of who you are, but inclusive of who you are. That means there is a place for you here inclusive of your religious affiliations, your race, your sexual orientation, or gender identity.
If you are new to faith, I hope you know that this is a place where you can ask questions safely. You can wrestle with your faith, and you can wonder. If faith isn’t a part of your story, but you just need a safe space to be, this place is for you too.
No matter where you come from, I hope you’ll know that the chapel is here for you, and so am I, as your chaplain.
To keep up with all that’s going on in the chapel, please follow us on instagram (@lcspirituallife). I also hope you’ll consider getting involved. I want your voices to be heard in our weekly chapel services (Tuesdays at 11:00am). If you want to read scripture, offer a prayer, sing music, or use your gifts in other ways, please don’t hesitate to reach out and let me know.
Louisburg College is related by faith to The United Methodist Church, and the Spiritual Life Program creates a space to worship, gather and learn together, while welcoming everyone from all backgrounds and experiences. This is a place for you to express and grow in your faith. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me, or stop by the office for a visit. I can’t wait to get to know all of you!
Blessings,
Rev. Laura Wittman
